Psalm
in Sync
by Saul Schechtman 2004
A fusion of Psalms
96 and 98, this song contributes the element of “breathtaking
originality” to the CD. Lively, unique, playful, the
first hearing generally engenders a gasp of surprise or even
a laugh. The “sync” refers to the two Psalms in “sync” with
each other as well as the conveyed illusion of syncopation.
Text: Ps. 96: 1-4,6;
Ps. 98: 5,6,8; Ps. 96: 2
O sing unto the Lord
a new song, sing unto the Lord all the earth.
O sing unto the
Lord and bless his name: show his salvation from day to day
and day to day.
Declare his glory and
his wonders among all people; for the Lord is great, and greatly
to be praised. Honour and
majesty
are before
him. Strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
Sing unto the
Lord with a harp, with a harp and the voice of a psalm, with
trumpets and the sound of cornet. Let the floods
clap
their hands, let the hills be joyful together.
Sing unto the
Lord all the earth; sing unto the Lord and bless his name,
show his salvation – from day to day and day to
day, day to day, day after day! |
