"Recently,
I often had patients who had to wait before their appointments.
So during that time [in the waiting room] I had your CD playing
softly. Over and over again I was told: 'I feel so good after
hearing this music.' Or: 'My, that was uplifting!'"

Lilies
and Simple Gifts includes the much-loved
sacred song, "Simple
Gifts," in a fresh, playful arrangement, as well
as the famous soprano solo from Haydn's Creation and
many sacred old-time favorites, such as "The
Holy City" and "Consider the Lilies."

Soprano Julia
Schechtman Pabst and the conductor Saul
Schechtman (piano) are faithful to the style
and feeling of each song, avoiding ostentation or superfluous
ornamentation, closely attuned to each other and each piece's
nuances.

Eye
on the Sparrow is another finely balanced
mixture of style, period, mood. It includes a new arrangement
of the song, "His
Eye is on the Sparrow," which blends the clear voice
with the accompaniment's bird-motif and a hint of gospel.
The tenderness of Gounod's "The King of Love" and "Ye
Shall Not Sorrow Anymore" are offset by the grandeur
of César Franck's "Bless the Lord O My Soul." Malotte's
hushed and exultant "Lord's
Prayer" serves as the CD's concluding Amen.

Psalms
and Prophets is, quite simply, a collection
of sacred songs culled from the previous two CDs for those
listeners who are looking for texts exclusively from the
Hebrew Scriptures.
